Model United Nations (MUN) at RWA
Model United Nations is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. It is an exciting mix of debating, international relations and role-play. In MUN, students step into the shoes of ambassadors from UN member states to debate on and try to address current issues and problems on the organization’s agenda;
The MUN Program at RWA began in March 2011, when 5 students from Grades 9-12, participated in their first MUN Conference at DIAMUN 2011 at Dubai International Academy. Since then, our senior students from Grades 9-12 have participated as delegates and office bearers each year in various overseas MUN conferences locally held ones in Dubai. Since 2011, more than 150 senior students of RWA have been trained and participated in the various conferences that the school delegations have been on.
The RWAMUN Mission Statement:
“ RWA MUN delegates, as globally oriented and politically aware students, will strive to inform and communicate effectively with their fellow delegates on issues of international prevalence and importance. They will also hope to come up with solutions for important and contemporary matters with dispatch through enforced parliamentary procedure.” (written by our student Mayank Tripathi – Grade 11).
The school RWAMUN logo too was designed by our former student, Arya Mortazavi.

RWA Anti-Bullying Committee
Zaeem Moti, an 11th Grade student hailing from South Africa takes the role of President this year and aims to revolutionise the committee with new tactics and ideas to tackle the issue head on. Currently, the Anti-Bullying Committee contains over 45 student representatives from 4th grade to 11th grade ensuring that the Committee is aware of any bullying-related concerns or issues across the board. The Committee works year round hand-in-hand with students and RWA faculty to deal with any bullying cases (physical, verbal or cyber) and follows a specific process to ensure that the victim is protected and that the bully is helped as well.
The Committee is looking forward to their annual Anti-Bullying Week which will take place in February 2016 as well as a conference in March 2016 and many other anti-bullying events such as our PS3 Tournament and Parent workshops.
